Dr. Francis Obeng
Biography
Dr. Francis Obeng is a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician. He specializes in adult medical conditions including Diabetes, Hypertension, Kidney Disease and a whole host of adult medical diseases.
He is the lead physician at Alfa Medical Clinic PA located at 2540 West Arrowood Road STE 110 Charlotte North Carolina. Dr. Obeng is very passionate about preventive care and believes in the old adage that “a stitch in time, saves nine”. He places a lot of emphasis is on preventive care including screenings for breast, prostate and colon cancer. He also treats acute adult medical illnesses.
Dr. Obeng received his medical education at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana. There he graduated with a Bachelors of science in Human Biology, Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery.
He proceeded to have his post graduate training at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons at Harlem Hospital in New York. After completion of his residency training, he relocated to the Charlotte area and has been practicing since 2002. Dr. Obeng is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Hospitalist Physician at Atrium Health.
Dr. Obeng is married with three children and has special interests in soccer, traveling and mentorship.
